Join us in our newly renovated experience center and learn more about the salmon. We have an exciting lecture where we talk about the life of the salmon, salmon lice, old myths and a lot more!
Experience center for aqua culture
Our focus is to pass on knowledge about aquaculture based on facts and research. Salmon Center Gildeskål was renewed in 2021, and we are looking forward to host visits in our new and beautiful experience center.
We have an indoor aquarium where the salmon swim around you in 360 degrees, and a sensory tub for children with the opportunity for close encounters with organisms from the sea.
We are located in Domus Pisces, a building owned by the county council, which is also connected to education in aquaculture and a Newton room.
Opening hours
Tuesday- Friday: 10.00-15.00
Saturday-Sunday: 12.00-15.00
Visiting us is free of charge.
Boat trip
Join us on a boat trip out to one of our locations and experience the salmon in the fish cages. Remember to book your sea trip in advance of your visit. We have a Polar Circle that can take 10 passengers.
Domus Pisces
Domus Pisces: Doums Pisces is latin and means house of the fish. We offer a full tour.
Domus Pisces is housing Meløy high school practice facilities in aqua culture, the Newton room, and the experience center Salmon Center Gildeskål.
